Well today was interesting at best. When it was time to leave work the heavens had burst forth with much electricity, thunder and heavy sheets of rain. My office sits in a low spot of town, so when it rains things get interesting in a bad way. To make things more interesting I had on a ankle length white lace skirt, my smaller umbrella and heels. The forecast had said nothing about all this! ![]()
Thankfully I still had some flip flops at my desk I had used for a photo shoot, and while a tad too small I tossed them on and made a dash for my car, wadding my skirt up in my free hand in an attempt to keep it as dry as possible while still being modest. I’m glad opted to wear the flip flops, as sure enough I had to wade through ankle high water to get into my car.
The roads all around my office completely fill with water when a heavy summer squall blows though, so it was all kinds of fun making my way to the highway. It still amazes me that so many people here can’t drive in the rain or heavy water. This whole town is on a giant flood plane, please learn how to not drown people. *huge pet peeve of mine* This is a shot taken at an intersection waiting for the light to change. See how deep it is?

Of course by the time I drove home the sky was half blue, completely figures for summer weather. Needless to say I was very happy to make it home without my car sounding like a boat and into dry clothes. There was a spectacular sunset this evening though, so I suppose in a way that makes up for the annoyances. heh
Mr Mystic kitty went to the vet this past Friday and he’s now on medication. I don’t want to go into details and gross out anyone, but let’s just say he’s having gut issues. I have to feed him special canned food twice a day to help him get his internal good bacteria back again. Poor kitty does not like morning pills either, but he’s getting better knowing there’s a soft food reward. haha! The vet also mentioned he might have a cavity, which would explain his weight loss and horrible breath, so she’ll check more thoroughly after he’s through his round of med’s. Leave it to kitty to get sick right before vacation. The vet say’s he will be perfectly fine while I’m gone but I’ll still worry a bit.
This past weekend was pretty much just full of boring things of getting ready to go on vacation. You know, laundry, house cleaning, errands, etc etc. Nothing to get really excited to write about.
Finally potted my little seedling plant into it’s permanent place. I had planned on splitting it and take half to the office and leave half at home, but the office turns the air off nights and weekends so it’s just too hot.

I did finish altering some Barbie clothes to fit my girls though, so I took a couple of snaps. First two are of Amaya, her jacket now has sleeves the right length. Huzzah! Also have her a black netting shrug and a pale pink top with black crown print.
Keiko has a new dress with a lovely pink, purple and blue print of flowers and waves. I also made her a giant head eating bow and a necklace to match.
I ordered them two tops and a sweater around a month ago from a nice one lady shop, but alas they just shipped today.
I am looking forward to them arriving though, because that means I then have no more excuses to not get started on trying my hand at a lolita styled skirt.
Ugh! The rain just never ends here either! Your girls are adorable! I have a ton of Barbie clothes to go thru and see if any will be cute enough cause my clothes sewing skills are pretty nil. Have an awesome vacation!
Oh wow that is some crazy rain!! :O
